Earth Grown Diamonds
Earth Grown Diamonds are shaped over billions of years deep within the earth. Born under immense heat and pressure, these remarkable gemstones are made of carbon, the hardest substance on earth.
Once expertly cut, they reveal their brilliance, enhanced by a high refractive index of 2.45, a measure of the light they reflect. Graded on the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) colour scale, Earth Grown Diamonds are evaluated for their colour and clarity, with most showcasing subtle inclusions or blemishes when viewed under a jeweller’s magnifying tool. These natural characteristics add to their individuality.
As we support the ethical Kimberley Process, we guarantee all our Earth Grown Diamonds are conflict-free.
Lab Grown Diamonds
An exquisite and sustainable choice, Lab Grown Diamonds are created in controlled environments that replicate the conditions found in nature.
Identical to their Earth Grown counterparts, both physically and optically, they’re also made from carbon. Once expertly cut, they share the same refractive index of 2.45, which ensures their brilliance.
All of our premium quality Lab Grown Diamonds are graded on the GIA colour scale from D to Z, just like Earth Grown Diamonds. A trained gemologist, even using a magnifier, wouldn’t be able to distinguish your Lab Grown Diamond from one formed within the earth.
Most Lab Grown Diamonds, display small inclusions or blemishes imperceptible to the naked eye - a natural result of their creation process.
The American Swiss Promise
At American Swiss, we hand-select our Lab Grown Diamonds for quality, the same way we do our Earth Grown Diamonds. All Diamonds weighing 0.50ct or above, regardless of their origin, are accompanied by a GIA Diamond grading certificate from an independent grading laboratory.
